Data centers and battery energy storage systems (BESS) are generating questions and discussion in communities across Michigan and around the country. To help residents better understand these technologies, Kalamazoo County Government is hosting an educational panel featuring subject matter experts on Thursday, June 25, 2026. This event is educational in nature. It is not tied to a specific project or proposal, is not a public hearing, and no decisions will be made. The purpose is to provide factual and balanced information, address common questions, and create an opportunity for residents to learn from experts. Residents are encouraged to submit questions in advance by June 19 to help inform the discussion.

Kalamazoo County is developing a Climate Action and Climate Justice Plan to help prepare for the impacts of changing weather patterns and climate-related challenges in our region. The plan is intended to be a living document that can evolve over time as conditions, data, and community needs change. Residents are encouraged to review the draft plan and share feedback during the public comment period.
